Exotic Naturals service does not end at supplying the ingredient or the Formula. We hope and expect that more and more of our Customers look at us as a friend and partner in their Herbal Business helping them make better products for Consumer health and well-being.
Our role as a partner in the Product development cycle starts from the stage of the basic Idea continuing on to the final marketing. Herbal Products, like Pharmaceuticals, also need to be backed by adequate research, quality standards, safety data and clinical evidence. Regulatory agencies the world over are now realising the need for such quality standards for the herbal supplements or natural therapeutic agents sold in their countries. Realizing this need, we packaged a host of useful services under one roof and our clients can't stop thanking us for this novel idea.
Literature Review and Complete Survey: A complete survey of the existing knowledge on the product, its intended applications and ingredients is essential prior to designing a herbal formulation. Our review of traditional and scientific literature on the medicinal plants helps planning further work and also for seeking regulatory approvals.
Analytical Method Development & Standardization of Herbals Ingredients & Formulas: Complete profiling of herbal Ingredients and Supplements using Therapeutically Active Marker compounds.
Bioefficacy studies: Mere mixing of 2 or more herbs that have reported to have medicinal property does not constitute an efficacious herbal product. The product in its final form needs to be actually tried on humans. However, it is neither safe nor viable to clinically try all potentially active products. Hence efficacy trials on a variety of live animal and in vitro cell line models are now possible.
Toxicity studies: Recent adverse events have clearly shown that all Herbal products are not free from side effects and toxicity. Products that have been confirmed to have bioefficacy can then be taken up for safety studies to determine possible side effects, adverse reactions and the maximum tolerable dosages.
Formulation Development: Depending on the nature of the product formulation (oral, topical, etc.) the formulation studies can be initiated along with animal testing. This involves designing a stable and standardized dosage form to deliver the active ingredients effectively.
Pharmacokinetic Studies: Rapid rate of absorption and delivery to the sites of action are critical for the success of a herbal product that is intended for a therapeutic effect. Often a cleverly designed herbal recipe may fail either due to unstable formulation or poor absorption from the site of administration.
Clinical Studies: The common belief that "if a polyherbal product has been prepared as per the traditional system of medicine it is bound to be safe and effective" is not true. If you would like a herbal product to have an edge over the competition then it needs to have a health benefit claim. Well designed Double Blind Randomized Clinical trials can prove such health claims. India has now become the favorite destination to conduct Clinical Research due to modern facilities, high patient population and advanced data management skills.
