About Centella asiatica

Centella asiatica is commonly known as Brahmi or Mandukarni in Sanskrit. It forms part of Sri Lankan cuisine, where it is called Gotu Kola. In Sinhalese Gotu is translated into conical shape and Kola for leaf. Centella is derived from Latin word "CENTUM = HUNDRED" referring to profusely branched prostrate herb. The main phytoconstituents belong to class of triterpenes and responsible for its efficacy.
