About Boswellia serrata

Boswellia serrata (Salai Guggal in Sanskrit) is one of the most ancient and respected herbs in Ayurveda, the Indian system of traditional medicine. "Gajabhakshya" a Sanskrit name sometimes used for Boswellia suggests that elephants enjoy this herb as a part of their diet. Its active chemical constituents are a group of triterpenes identified as Boswellic acids. It is helps with joint flare ups. Plenty of studies have demonstrated its use for improving joint health. Preclinical research has also demonstrated its efficacy in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.
